We seek a diligent and proactive Safety Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will support the Safety department in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by assisting in implementing safety programs, organizing and maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This role is crucial for continuously improving our workplace safety practices and the overall well-being of our employees.
RequirementsDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist Safety Staff
Assist with organizing and maintaining file system, file correspondence, and other records.
Assist with safety training and WC files, and reorganize and scan safety files.
Assist the Manager of EHS in conducting and documenting new employee safety training and orientation.
Assist in providing health and safety practices and establishing and enforcing related policies at all times.
Assist with the development and implementation of required safety and environmental health programs.
Maintain inventory and purchase personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses, gloves, respirators, rain gear, harnesses, lockout, and tagout devices) and other safety supplies.
Assist with periodic inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and work practices, improve workplace operations, and control hazards.
QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be a full-time student or recent graduate majoring in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field
The ideal candidate must be a dedicated, career-minded, self-motivated individual who is prepared to “roll up their sleeves” and get to work while learning about the exciting wine industry.
Knowledge and/or interest in learning more about Safety.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong PowerPoint, Word, Excel, web, and social media knowledge.
Ability to prioritize projects and communicate clearly and effectively via email.

Physical/Mental RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:
Sit for prolonged periods.
Perform some repetitive motion activities.
Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
Lift, move, and stack boxes up to 60 lbs.
Work Environment
Work occurs partially in a temperature-controlled office environment with low to medium noise levels.
Work occurs partially throughout our manufacturing facility, and workers are exposed to sunlight and other weather elements, hot and cool temperatures, and moderate to high noise levels.
