I know the 35-150 f/2-2.8 VXD gets all the press (I get it, I do) but the just released 28-75 f/2.8 VXD G2 is just a gorgeous little lens that renders just as beautifully as the 35-150, with the added benefit of being half the size and weight... and cost! And while the obvious motives for a purchase of the 150-500VC VXD are sports and wildlife, who knew it rocked so hard at macro?! It focuses down to just under 2ft from the focal plane at 150mm! The results are just superb. Anywho... the continued expansion of Z-mount support means good things abound for our Nikonian faithful. It's a fabulous thing 😎

I used to sell a lot of Tamron lenses when I worked at Dury's in Nashville. Greg was such a great rep to work with.

The Butterfly Haven in Pingree, ID is unique, even among the rather specialized world of butterfly conservation. While most butterfly pavilions showcase seasonal species from various regions around the globe, Butterfly Haven's winged denizens are solely North American. This allows them to grow a butterfly's native home plant and therefore, in a truly neat twist, allow the visitor to see the life cycle of many if their butterflies, in their native setting. Eggs, larva caterpillar, chrysalis pupa, butterfly. Now, the images here show the stages but each belong to a different species. Still: the Tamron Americas #A069 50-300 VC VXD Macro continues to show that it is going to bring a new standard to the long held tradition of compact 300mm zooms. Many thanks to the Butterfly Haven for hosting our class, this weekend! They're lovely people whose passion for conservation simply shines throughout their pavilion. #butterflyhaven #butterflies #butterfliesofinstagram #lifecycle #telemacro #telezoom #newlens #conservation #macrophotography #closeup #upclose #idaho #idahogram

As a photographer/father-nerd, I can assure you of this: if you can get your kiddos to pause and pose for the camera, you can work with anyone! 😁 Good stuff, here. And Happy Dad's Day!

Little known fact: Tamron Americas was the original innovator behind three axis, in-lens stabilization for photographic purposes. And we continue to innovate, as AI algorithms come to the fore; allowing better, more fluid behavior during video capture. Adaptive optical movement, better suited to either stills or video as the context dictates, will lead to better content creation by trade. Applause to us 😎

New lens, new bucket list shot finally captured. The Washington Monument marble intensely reflects infra-red, lighting up like a glowstick at 720nm. A 3m 16sec exposure under the filter allowed the clouds to slowly braid themselves around the structure... and allowed the ghosts of passersby to disappear. This was captured at 118mm. BTS shot included 😎With the introduction of the A069 50-300 VC VXD for Sony full-frame and APS-C cameras, Tamron Americas has taken professional performance to a compact, video-hybrid telezoom lens with macro capacity... that weighs less than 1.5lbs. The very rare full frame lens that could truly make a crop shooter happy, the 50-300 VC VXD can work near to far like very few lenses can, with a linear motor designed for sports and wildlife... and 1:2 to 1:3 macro capacity throughout the range. Add to this its cine/video compatibility with Tamron's Lens Utility V3.0 and $799 will get the hybrid shooter one of the most versatile lenses in production, today. Coming to a #realcamerastores member near you on 6/27/24.

Our Lens Utility is truly one of the unsung aspects of the tech Tamron Americas are currently bringing to the table. We have a lineup of hybridized, intelligent lenses, designed for programmability in the studio and in the field, for both video/cine production and enhanced photographic capability via your laptop in controlled environs or through our Android app, our smart lenses can allow for a greater level of collaboration between the creative and their lenses. I.) Immediate Distance Recall or Single Focus Preset: the ability to recall a specific distance at the touch of a button. Also available: programmable rack speed aka How long it takes to transition focus to that preset point when engaged with the laptop version of the TLU allowing you to choose from 9 steps of speed.II.) Programmable A/B Focus Pulls: the ability to automatically rack focus between two predetermined/preprogrammed distances, also with programmable rack speed (from .1sec to 99sec on the mobile app!)III.) Switch from non-linear manual focus behavior to linear manual focus behavior: Simulates mechanical/cine/true linear MF behavior, allowing for full-time, consistent amount of MF ring throw, between MOD and infinity. Also available: programmable rack/throw amounts in 90 degree increments.IV.) Our smart Sony E-mount lenses offer available mechanical iris override: switch between manual focus & aperture diaphragm with the press of a programmable button. V.) (Telephoto Lenses) User adjustable & programmable AF limiter: custom set a distance range, narrowing the field the camera needs to hunt when acquiring a distant subject. This feature is not just used as a long-term, everyday function but also an as-needed, quickly override-able, in-the-moment operation. Switch between limited & full range at will. An absolute game changer for sports and wildlife.VI.) Astro Focus Lock: When engaged, automatically brings focus to the correct locked infinity position for astrophotography. MF ring is disabled to prevent accidental changes. Overridden by focus hold button, switching to AF, or Remote Set Button on TLU Mobile.VII.) Digital Follow Focus: using the Lens Utility Mobile app (Android), convert your phone or tablet into a follow focus rig: while connected to the lens via USB-C cable, set the entry and exit spots for your manual focus range, then create your own consistent, mechanical focus pulls on screen while the action takes place. If you're a Sony user (hello, FX peeps) aperture diaphragm can be accessed simultaneously, with custom EV steps dialed in.That's not even all the Tamron Lens Utility offers... Plus we currently have six compatible lenses. With more to come! The Tamron Lens Utility V3.0 is the key to unlocking these features, expanding both photographic and videographic capabilities in a profound fashion. Not only are our optics up to professional standards, what we offer in the total user experience is simply unmatched.

It's a dreary day, here in Commack, NY... But at Tamron Americas HQ things are considerably brighter as the North American team gets together for the first time since February, 2020. As individual reps in the field, having family across the continent means a great deal... And when imagination meets analysis at high velocity, really good things can happen. One of the things I love about working with the world's largest lens manufacturer (yes, yes we are) is the fact that we're still small enough to know one another by face, name... Possibly kids and dogs... Certainly music, movies, and food! The people, as they do everywhere, make what we are that much more substantive. The people make what we do, matter. So now we are headed into the Meat Packing District, working our way up the Highline in the rain. Did you know Tamron weather seals ALL of their lenses? Of course you did. And if you didn't: now you do. Anywho. We're off to cause some good trouble in the heart of New York City. It's a privilege to be surrounded by such extraordinary people. Here's to family and to the future. See you all in the field. It's true. #officiallyofficial. Doors have been cracked. Light has fallen through, and Tamron Americas has announced the development of our first RF optic: the #B060RF 11-20 f/2.8 RXD for APS-C capture. The best bright ultra-wide zoom for crop sensor cameras is coming soon to Canon, herald of very good things to come. The global photo forums are already calling it #camron which.... Is adorable, so I'll accept it 💖 Anywho. So. What's to say? Well, I'll say this (*inhales deeply*)...Excellent to class leading coma and distortion control at the edges of the frame (even wide open), excellent to class leading chroma control, excellent to class leading light transmission, AF accuracy and speed... and it’s weathersealed. Like: actually weathersealed. Not just a cursory gasket at the back of the lens. Moisture resistance. Which, of course, goes for all Tamron lenses. Right, so. Availability and pricing are forthcoming. For now: celebrations are in order. RF has new friends. And we're very pleased to have come to the party. #lensparty #withmytamron #tamronlenses #tamronRF #comingsoon #shoplocal #ultrawide
